Wonder Book Review

March 18, 2020

Hello guys! Welcome back. Today I have a book review for you guys because I haven't been doing them in a long time. So today I have the book 'Wonder'.

This book is heartwarming, emotional and funny. It is written by the author R J Palacio.

I love the cover and the awesome thing about this book is that there are parts written by each person. example - the first part is written by August Pullman, who is the main character of this story. The next part is written by his sister. This is an international best-seller. It is now a major motion picture too.

The story is about a 10 year old boy called August Pullman.

August just does normal 10 year old things like eating ice-cream, riding his bike etc.

But even though he does normal things, he is really not normal. Even though he got 27 surgeries, his face still looks deformed.

He was home schooled all his life because of all these surgeries. His face is so bad that he doesn't want to describe it. He had surgeries to try to make his face appear normal. But when he turns 10, his parents want him to go to school because his parents can not teach him anymore. But he does not want to go to school because he thinks that everyone will hate him because if his face. Well.... unfortunately that does happen:-(

The reason for his deformed face was that he had a double dose of a mutant gene.

He has a protective older sister called Via who is very pretty and who gets very angry when people stare at her younger brother Auggie.

Everyone hates him and no one sits with him during lunch in school.. But of course, there are a few people in this world who are actually kind. In August's case, there are 2 people like that - Jack and Summer.

Later on, everybody starts liking him. But it is not that simple. Find out how this brave chap faces his fears and learns to live in this brutal world.

What age group is the book Wonder for? Well, its good for boys and girls of the age group 8-12.

There are many quotes that will leave you thinking about the book for many days after you read it.

The last few chapters is my favorite. This book taught me so many things and the feeling it gave me after finishing it is inexpressible.
